Vein and swelling conditions
Compression for varicose veins, CVI and leg swelling
Most of the South Bend patients we see come to us for vein problems, not just lymphedema. We fit medical compression stockings for:
- Varicose veins
- Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI)
- Venous edema and ankle swelling
- Post-thrombotic syndrome
- Spider veins
- Healed venous ulcers
- After vein ablation or sclerotherapy
- Lymphedema and lipedema
What each condition is and how compression helps: Compression for Vein Conditions.
Stockings and socks
Knee-high, thigh-high and pantyhose in 15–20, 20–30 and 30–40 mmHg, open or closed toe, from Juzo, Jobst, medi, Sigvaris and L&R.
Wraps and custom garments
Adjustable velcro wraps for legs that change size or hands that can't pull on a stocking, plus custom flat knit when ready-to-wear won't fit.
Compression pumps
Pneumatic compression pumps and pump garments for lymphedema and swelling that garments alone don't control.
Coming from Indiana
Make one trip count
Get your paperwork in before you drive
Fill out our new patient forms online and have your doctor send your prescription ahead of time, with the diagnosis on it. Then your visit is spent being measured, not filling in forms in the waiting room.
Book a morning appointment if you can. Legs swell as the day goes on, and morning measurements give the best fit.
We ship to your door
Once you are measured, we order your garments and ship them to your home in Indiana. Most patients do not need a second trip. When it is time to replace them, call us; if your size hasn't changed, we can usually reorder without another visit.
Paying out of pocket? We accept credit cards, HSA and FSA, with itemized receipts, and we price match. Call before you come and we will check your coverage.

Questions from South Bend
Asked and answered
How far are you from South Bend?
We are at 8988 East D Avenue, Richland, MI 49083, about an hour and a half north of South Bend. Open Mon–Wed 9–3, Thu 9–5 and Fri 9–1.
Do you fit patients who live in Indiana?
Yes. We measure you at our Richland store and ship your garments to your Indiana address.
Do I need a prescription?
Lighter compression (8–15 and 15–20 mmHg) does not. Medical-grade compression, 20–30 mmHg and above, usually does. Ask your doctor to include the diagnosis, such as varicose veins, venous insufficiency or post-thrombotic syndrome.
Can I walk in?
Please call or request a fitting first. It is a long drive, and we want your paperwork in place so we can finish your fitting in one visit.
Lymphedema or lipedema? See our South Bend lymphedema garments and pumps page. See every area we serve on the Areas We Serve page.

Send the prescription with the diagnosis any of four ways: with the patient to our store, by fax to 800-886-4201, through Parachute Health, or on our secure portal at midwestcompression.com/provider. If insurance applies, include the progress note. We handle measuring, ordering and shipping, and we give you time back in your day.
Patients
Use our secure portal to enter your information and set up a measuring appointment, or call 800-883-1549. You are measured in a private fitting suite, a room with a door, not a curtain on a shop floor.
